Parent Pathways

Parent Pathways helps parents and caregivers of young children plan their future work or study. Through this program, you can set personal, employment, or educational goals, connect with local services, and access financial support to take your next step. Now is a great time to focus on your future by identifying goals and creating a pathway to achieve them.

What Is Parent Pathways

Parent Pathways is designed for parents and primary carers with children under 6, offering support in setting personal, educational, and employment goals. Whether you’re looking to start work or connect with local services like housing or support groups, Training Alliance Group is here to support you, including with Engagement Support vouchers.

To join Training Alliance Group’s Parent Pathways program, you need to:

  • Be the primary carer of a youngest child under 6, and
  • Be currently unemployed
  • Live in a non-remote area (an Employment Region)

Additionally, you must meet one of these requirements:

  • Receive an income support payment, such as Parenting Payment Single, or
  • Parenting Payment Partnered, or
  • Carer Payment, or
  • Special Benefit

Or, if not receiving income support, you must be:

    • Under 22 years old
    • An Early School Leaver (that is, someone who has not completed the final year of school or equivalent or an equivalent or higher level of education), or
    • A First Nations Australian

Additional Notes:

  • Eligible parents or carers receiving a qualifying income support payment can register their interest to connect with a provider using the self-service function in their Centrelink Online Account on myGov.
  • Alternatively, parents and carers may register directly with Training Alliance Group.

Training Alliance Group’s Parent Pathways program is available in the Great Southern Wheatbelt, Kalgoorlie, South West, Perth North, and Perth South.
