This training equips participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely work at heights and in confined spaces, in accordance with Australian workplace health and safety regulations. It covers risk assessment, hazard identification, atmospheric testing using gas detection equipment, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fall prevention systems, confined space entry and exit procedures, and emergency response protocols. Participants will learn how to monitor and assess hazardous atmospheres to ensure a safe working environment before and during confined space or height-related tasks. This training is suitable for individuals who are required to work in high-risk environments where safety is critical – particularly at heights and in confined spaces, with a need to test and monitor atmospheric conditions.

Enrolment Information:
Students are required to read the Student Handbook and agree to the Terms and Conditions prior to enrolment. All students must satisfactorily complete a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment at a minimum of ACSF Level 2 and participate in a course suitability discussion during the pre-enrolment process. Once the enrolment is reviewed, students will receive confirmation of their enrolment. A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) is mandatory for all students.
What You Need To Provide:
For practical activities, students will be required to wear enclosed shoes (steel caps if possible) and clothing suitable for the weather, long sleeves, a high-visibility vest or shirt and long pants.

Further Study Options:
Students who successfully complete the work safely at heights, confined spaces and gas testing training may choose to continue their studies towards RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations or RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction General.
CTF Funded Fees:
For CTF-eligible construction workers, a subsidy of $336.00 will be applied in metro regions, reducing the course fee to $144.00. The CTF provides funding support for training of eligible workers in the construction industry. We acknowledge the support of the CTF in reducing the costs of training for eligible workers.
