This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in operational roles within civil construction, performing prescribed tasks under supervision.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in an operational role in civil construction, who undertake a prescribed range of tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental knowledge, in a defined context working under supervision.
Packaging rules for this qualification require the completion of 16 units of which 10 are core units and 6 are elective units.
Delivery Mode:
Face-to-face classroom, hands-on practical training, and supported self-paced learning. For students requiring extra assistance, up to 12 months is allowed to complete the course. These students will have access to ad-hoc support sessions organised with the trainer to help them progress.

What You Need to Provide:
Students participating in this course are required to wear enclosed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. To gain access to the practical site, students may be required to wear long sleeves, a high visibility vest or shirt, long pants, and safety boots. Course-specific practical site requirements will be discussed prior to enrolment.

The evidence gathering process will reflect specific requirements for units within the training package. Each candidate’s attainment of the units of competency within this qualification is achieved by their successful completion of a range of assessment activities.
For each unit of Competency, these activities may include:
Candidates are required to demonstrate that they can apply the knowledge and skills learnt in a range of situations and in varying contexts so many of the assessment requirements of the units of competencies will need to be demonstrated on more than one occasion.

Further Study Options:
Students who successfully complete the course may choose to continue to RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations or a specialised study such as RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction (course operated by MTACS – RTO ID 52053) if desired.
