Transition to Work (TtW) Program
What is TtW?
If you are aged between 15 and 24 and looking for work or to gain new skills, then TtW could be for you! TtW helps you develop skills, confidence, and readiness to enter the workforce. Our Career Advocates provide practical support to help you into education and training; identify any challenges you may be facing and deliver personalised assistance to help you reach your goals.
You will receive guidance in building and maintaining your work, interpersonal, and communication skills through practical training, industry engagement, and community partnerships.
At TAG we understand that sometimes you may face challenges which require extra support. Our qualified staff provide a safe, judgement-free space to help you move forward.
Our approach is person-centred. We tailor our support to suit your individual needs and unique aspirations. Through both experiential and classroom-based learning, we focus on opportunities to develop your sense of belonging, social capabilities, and work-readiness.
Specialised Youth Career Service
Our TtW program offers vocational guidance, personalised coaching, and skill development to prepare you for a successful transition into the world of work and further education.
Our suite of assessments and interventions are designed to build motivation, employability, resilience, and self-belief. We co-design your career roadmap with you, securing your commitment to goals and timeframes which will develop the skills you need to gain meaningful employment.
We offer real-world opportunities, including workplace visits, guest speakers, and trade tasters to complement work experience and internship placements. Through our network of industry partners, we not only connect you with realistic and relevant job opportunities but also provide the support you need to maintain long-term employment and career development.
Pathway to Employment
Through training and upskilling you will be able to build a strong foundation of employability skills to help you get and keep a job.
You’ll get access to a mixture of accredited and non-accredited training programs of your choice, giving you the chance to work towards a Certificate III in your chosen field while developing many of the other practical skills that employers look for.
TAG has connections with employers right across WA. Your Career Advocate will work with you to find the right job opportunities to suit your needs.

We also have extensive experience working with Indigenous young people and those from non-English speaking backgrounds. We are committed to providing an inclusive and culturally safe service and have suitably trained and qualified staff to ensure the highest standard in this area.
Our Hubs are places where young people are encouraged to explore their own cultural identities, strengths, and assets.
TtW services for employers include:
- pre-employment skills for participants directly relevant to the needs of local employers and the local labour market
- work experience placements for eligible participants to assess a young person’s suitability for a job
- negotiating Youth Bonus wage subsidies of up to $10,000 (GST inclusive) with employers who offer young job seekers ongoing employment
- post placement support to ensure a young person settles into a job and the employer’s expectations are being met.
